Pecan Spice Cookies

Sugar Mixture

1/2 cup butter
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 egg

Mix butter, sugar and egg thoroughly.

Dry Ingredients

1-3/4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

1/3 cup chopped pecans
4 to 5 dozen pecan halves (for tops)

Blend flour, baking powder, salt, spices. Stir dry ingredients into butter mixture. Stir in chopped pecans.

Roll dough in 1 “ balls. Place 2” apart on a greased baking sheet. Place a pecan half on top of each cookie, flattening slightly. Bake at 375˚ for 10-12 minutes.

4-5 dozen cookies
