1 c Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon
½ c Shortening, lard, or vegetable fat
1 c Sour milk
½ tsp Mapleine
1 Tbls Cocoa
Pinch Salt
1 Egg, well beaten
1 tsp Soda
2-1/8 c Flour
Mix sugar, cocoa, cinnamon, and salt together. Cream with fat. Add egg, milk, soda, mapleine. Sift in flour. Beat well, put in greased tin. Bake in moderate oven. Chocolate or white icing makes this very delicious.
