Whole Wheat Bread 4

Combine:

6 c Whole-wheat flour
¾ c Sugar
1-1/2 tsp Salt
2 Tbls Lard

Heat 3 cups of water until lukewarm.  Dissolve 1 cake of yeast in half of this.

Add it to the remaining water. Stir in the dry ingredients until the dough is well blended. Put it in a bowl covered with a cloth in a warm place (about 85˚) until it has more than doubled in bulk (about 1-1/4 hours). Place it in 2 greased 5×10” bread pans. Permit it to rise untilit has doubled in bulk. Bake it in a hot oven (400˚) until it is light brown. Reduce the heat to 350˚. Bake it until it is done (for about 1 hour in all).
