Sift 1/3 c Powdered sugar.
Beat 1/3 c butter until soft.
Add the sugar to the butter gradually. Blend these ingredients until they are very light and creamy. Beat in:
1 Egg
1/3 c Molasses
1/8 tsp Salt
1/8 tsp Soda
Sift before measuring 7/8 c bread flour. Add the flour in 3 parts to the butter mixture. Stir in 1 tsp vanilla. Beat the batter after each addition until it is smooth. Fold in 1 c broken nut meats. Bake the batter in a greased 8×8” pan in a moderate oven (375˚) for about 15 minutes. Cut the cake into bars before it is cold. Roll them in powdered sugar.
