Apple Roll

Make syrup: 1 c Sugar and 1 c Water

Chop 2 Apples

Biscuit dough:

1 c Flour
2 tsp Baking powder
2 Tbls Shortening
½ tsp Salt
1 Tbls Sugar
Milk or water

Make syrup in a deep pan over a slow fire. Make biscuit dough and roll ½” thick, spread with chopped apple and roll like a jelly roll. Cut into pieces 1-1/2” long, place in hot syrup. Put a small piece of butter on top of each and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake in hot oven until apples are done. Serve with cream.

Time in combining: 15 minutes

Time in cooking: ½ hour

Temperature: 350˚

Makes 4 servings
