Green Beans, Potatoes, and Smoked Meat

Cook until nearly tender in water to cover: a piece of smoked meat (ham, picnic, Canadian bacon, etc). If using already cooked or leftover ham or bone, just bring to a boil before adding a pound of green beans, an onion, and 4 halved, pared, medium potatoes. Simmer, covered, about 20 to 25 minutes. Correct seasonings. Serve from a large platter, garnished with lemon wedges.
