Tomato Aspic

Soak 1 Tbls gelatin in 2 Tbls cold water. Dissolve it in 2 Tbls boiling water. Add 1 can tomato soup. Heat about 2 c tomato juice; dissolve it in 1 pkg lemon flavored gelatin. Combine the 2 mixtures. Add 1/8 tsp salt.

To add solid ingredients:

Chill. When it is about to set, add 1 or 2 c of solid ingredients, such as sliced olives, chopped celery, chopped green peppers, grated or chopped carrots, chopped meat, flaked fish, well-drained oysters, etc.

To mold: Pour aspic into a wet ring mold or into individual ring molds. Chill until firm. Unmold it on lettuce.

Fill the center with: cole slaw, sliced cucumbers, diced avocado, shrimp, etc., or mayonnaise, or other dressing.
