Apple Pudding

3 Large apples
1 c Sugar
1 Tbls Butter
1 Egg
½ c Sweet milk
1 tsp Baking powder
1-1/4 c Flour

Pare apples and cut in small pieces. Lay on greased pie plate. Sprinkle with a little of the sugar. Cream butter and add the rest of the sugar and egg, well beaten, milk, and flour sifted with baking powder. Beat thoroughly. Pour over the apples, bake as for any cake. Eat with sugar and cream.

Time in combining: 15 minutes
Time in cooking: 40 minutes
Oven temperature: 350˚
6 large servings

This cake appears familiar to many of us, though the proportions of the ingredients in this recipe merit our approval because the expensive ones are reduced to a minimum with an excellent result. Any fruit, fresh or canned, may be used instead of the apples.
